Michael Wheeler was born and grew up in the Firelands of North Central Ohio, a part of the state rich with American Indian history. Since youth he collected bones, naturalia, and cultural ephemera, and pursued an interest in magic and myth.  He later melded these interests together into image-making and fetishes.
     For Mr. Wheeler, "...everyday is animated by spiritual forces...spirit can be infused into matter, and in turn, matter can be animated mythically by said same spirit. "  Fetish making, therefore, is the creative act whereby, "...the devine descends through mind into matter...building a symbol that focuses and channels the spirit, enabling it's revelation and epiphany."
     Mr. Wheeler lives in Tiffin, Ohio with his wife Stacy and daughter Ashley.
